"Gandha Samudra" — Gandha (fragrance) and Samudra (ocean) — echoes the Buddhist image of a vast, fragrant "ocean of fragrant water." We hope every journey we plan can be just like our name: one that goes deep and leaves something behind, not just a string of place names on an itinerary.

Our Mission

GandhaSamudra Travel was founded in 2006, guided by Venerable Master Hsing Yun's original vision for starting a travel agency — to give back to and serve devotees by helping Buddhists visit the world's sacred sites with peace of mind. Our aim is to blend Buddhist pilgrimage with leisure travel, helping fellow practitioners visit teachers and holy places around the world, so that a travel agency can be more than a secular service business — it can be a wholesome act of practicing the Dharma.

The Master once said: "We run a travel agency to give back to and serve our devotees, not to make money." Many travel agencies profit from their customers without necessarily offering good service — but we want every journey to be planned with care and served with sincerity.
